A nicely executed all-steel street rod build finished top and bottom in Opalescent Pearl Tri-coat paint. I get sleeper vibes from this car. The exterior looks very luxurious true to the Tudor name, but underneath is a 345-horsepower 350ci ZZ3 GM crate V8 with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, a Heidt's Mustang II front suspension, and a 9-inch Ford rear axle with 3.55:1 posi-traction gearing. That should tell you that a lot of work went into making this pre-war classic a reliable performer.

Description

This 1940 Ford Deluxe Tudor is an all-steel street rod that underwent a comprehensive build process. The car features a fuel-injected GM crate engine, a four-speed overdrive transmission, a custom leather interior, and an updated chassis configuration with plated hardware used throughout. It is offered for sale with a clean Florida title.

The all-steel body is finished top and bottom in 1998 Lincoln Opalescent Pearl Tri-coat paint. Exterior features include California side mirrors, newly installed tinted glass, power front windows, an updated two-speed windshield wiper system, and a power antenna.

The vehicle stands on McClain chrome wire wheels with gold-finished spokes, wrapped in a set of five Michelin tires.

The interior is lined with new Seberin carpeting and trimmed in custom tan leather upholstery. Front seating consists of power-adjustable bucket seats sourced from a Turbo Thunderbird, complemented by a floor-mounted Lokar shifter wrapped in a leather boot. Comfort is managed by a Vintage Air climate control system providing heating, cooling, and defrosting. Entertainment is supplied by a six-speaker sound system with a Bluetooth stereo. Electrical systems are powered by a complete Ron Francis wiring harness. The trunk compartment is fully trimmed in new custom leather to match the cabin.

The driver operates the car via a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel on a GMC tilt steering column linked with Borgeson shafts and universal joints, equipped with integrated cruise control. The dashboard houses a full set of gold-face VDO gauges.

Inside the engine bay rests a 350ci ZZ3 V8 crate engine rated at 345 horsepower. The power plant is equipped with a chrome Street & Performance fuel injection system, a serpentine belt drive, a 100-amp chrome alternator, a chrome air conditioning compressor, and a stainless steel overflow tank. Cooling is handled by a custom Walker Z-series radiator. Power is sent through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission to a 9-inch Ford rear axle featuring a 3.55:1 posi-traction differential. The fuel system is supported by a Tanks Inc. fuel tank with an in-tank pump.

The chassis utilizes a Heidt's Mustang II front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering, paired with Posies parallel "Super Slide" rear leaf springs alongside front and rear sway bars. Stopping power is provided by a four-wheel power disc brake system utilizing a replacement pedal assembly, power booster, proportioning valve, and a Lokar emergency brake setup with replacement lines, hoses, and hardware.
