The rebuilt 318ci V8 engine presents neatly in the Dodge pilot-house bay, displaying clean routing for the 4-core aluminum radiator setup and modern electrical wiring. Underneath, the QA1 adjustable coilovers, four-link rear suspension, and Ford 9-inch differential reflect big improvements in the truck's handling capability. With its independent front suspension rebuild, power steering box, and front slotted disc brakes, this rare B-1-B pickup delivers the stance and hardware of a formidable custom build.

Description

This 1949 Dodge B-1-B B-Series pickup is powered by a rebuilt 318ci Chrysler V8 engine paired with a 904 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Purchased from a longtime friend and fellow Vietnam veteran, this truck underwent a mechanical and cosmetic overhaul that includes a rear four-link suspension, an independent front suspension, and custom wiring. Driven less than 2,000 miles since the mechanical rebuild, it is offered with a clean Arizona title by the private seller. Note that the front bumper was not present at the time of purchase and is not included in the sale. A complete new-in-box A/C system with alternator and compressor mounting brackets will be included with the sale, visible in the last gallery photo.

The exterior is finished in Light Blue paint, offset by the factory Dodge pilot-house cab design, dual side mirrors, new tinted glass all around, and fresh Steel Rubber Products body weatherstripping. The steel bed floor houses internal mounting hardware, while a scratch is present on the rear driver-side fender as documented in the gallery.

The truck rides on 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels mounted with 235/70R15 General radial tires.

The cabin features a rebuilt driver-side bench seat freshly upholstered in dark vinyl with matching door panels, dark floor covering, and new cab insulation. Cabin upgrades include new electric windshield wipers, an updated wiring harness, and a rebuilt window crank system.

The interior also features a aftermarket steering wheel linked to a new power steering box via Borgeson U-joints. A custom brushed aluminum dashboard panel houses a suite of Dolphin gauges, including a central speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A floor-mounted shifter manages the automatic transmission.

The engine bay houses a rebuilt 318ci Chrysler V8 engine topped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and a chrome air cleaner. Engine cooling is managed by a 4-core aluminum radiator assisted by dual electric cooling fans. Power is routed through a rebuilt 904 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission to a Ford 9-inch rear end.

The chassis pairs an independent front suspension rebuilt with new bushings, ball joints, and Timken bearings with a rear four-link suspension system controlled by QA1 adjustable coilover shocks. Steering is handled by a power-assisted steering box. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes featuring slotted rotors paired with rear drum brakes.
