This is a super classy truck right here that you can cruise effortlessly at modern highway speeds with that Chevy crate engine. Thanks to the Mustang II front subframe, power steering, and upgraded front disc brakes, it should steer tight and track straight with zero of the wandering typical of mid-century pickups. Overall a clean pickup with a devout ownership history and documentation to back it up the restoration.

Description

This 1952 Ford F1 pickup is a custom street rod that has been in the same family since it was purchased brand new by the current owner's uncle. Originally passed down through three generations and driven on family errands, the pickup underwent a complete frame-off restoration spanning 1994 to 2001 by a well-known restorer in Santa Cruz, California. Upgraded with a 350ci Chevy V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, a Mustang II independent front suspension, and air conditioning, this truck has logged just 300 miles since completion. It is now offered with a clean title.

The exterior is refinished in classic Vermillion Red paint over an all-steel body that retains factory door handles, mechanical locks, and roll-up windows. Exterior details include bright chrome bumpers, a horizontal grille painted in white, dual side mirrors, and a real solid oak pickup bed floor with polished divider strips. The fuel tank was relocated from behind the interior bench seat to beneath the rear bed, with a fresh filler door integrated into the passenger-side rear fender.

The truck rides on red color-matched steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and trim rings, wrapped in white-wall radial tires.

The cabin features a updated bench seat upholstered in custom vinyl with color-matched interior trim and dark floor coverings. Interior comfort amenities include air conditioning, an integrated heater, an original-style dashboard radio, and tinted glass. The interior also features a tilt steering column topped with a custom wheel positioned ahead of a suite of classic VDO instruments set into the painted steel dashboard. A floor-mounted shifter manages the automatic transmission, and a battery disconnect switch has also been installed in the cab.

The engine bay houses a 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, polished air cleaner, chrome valve covers, and an electronic ignition system. Power is sent through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission to a heavy-duty Ford 9-inch rear end. Exhaust flows through headers into a Flowmaster dual exhaust system.

The chassis benefits from a Mustang II independent front subframe conversion featuring power steering and power front disc brakes with larger rotors, updated bearings, and heavy-duty calipers. The rear suspension features a solid axle supported by leaf springs and rear hydraulic drum brakes.
