Description
This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL is a full-size personal luxury performance coupe powered by a 390ci FE Big Block V8 paired with a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. As a factory 500XL model, this Galaxie blends classic early-1960s Ford styling with power steering, power brakes, and a period-correct bucket seat cabin layout. It is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Oregon title.
The steel body is refinished in a red paint scheme, highlighted by full-length aluminum side moldings with white accents, dual side mirrors, dual headlights, round jet-inspired taillights, and bright chrome front and rear bumpers.
The car rides on American Racing Torq Thrust alloy wheels wrapped in performance radial tires.
The cabin features factory-style vinyl bucket seats up front with a matching rear bench seat, color-keyed carpeting, bright door panel trim, and an overhead courtesy lamp system. A factory-style center console runs between the front bucket seats.
The interior also features a factory-style steering wheel set ahead of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary warning indicators. A floor-mounted shifter manages the automatic transmission.

Cooling is supported by a heavy-duty radiator, while dual exhaust pipes deliver a classic Ford V8 rumbling exhaust note. Power is routed through a Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission to a solid rear axle.
The full-size chassis features power-assisted steering to decrease turning effort. Stopping power is handled by a power-assisted hydraulic drum brake system at all four corners.
