Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
A '64 LeMans that's been beefed up with a 389ci V8 and a Tri-Power setup! I like that this car stays true to the LeMans name and doesn't try to be another GTO clone. Riding on staggered 18-inch Torq Thrusts with TH400 durability and power front discs, this PHS-documented '64 LeMans strikes the perfect balance between raw power and effortless weekend cruiser.
Description
This 1964 Pontiac LeMans hardtop received a performance engine upgrade under current ownership over the past five years. Replacing the factory 326ci engine, the car now features a 1964-spec 389ci V8 equipped with a "Tri-Power" three-two-barrel carburetor setup. The car is offered with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) assembly documentation, build records, a window sticker, and a clean Virginia title.
![]()
The exterior features driver-quality light blue paintwork described by the seller as a 7 out of 10, displaying minor dings and chips from road use. The car is currently fitted with a 1964 GTO-style scoop hood, and a color-matched original LeMans hood is included in the sale. Exterior trim, bumpers, and factory badging remain intact.
![]()
The car stands on 18 inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in performance tires measuring 225/50R18 in rear and 225/40R18 in front.
![]()
The cabin retains its classic layout, featuring front bucket seats and a matching rear bench seat. Interior amenities include a functional heater and dash controls. The factory air conditioning system is currently non-functional and lacks a compressor, though all other underlying A/C components remain installed.
![]()
The driver operates the car via a factory steering wheel set ahead of the stock instrument cluster, with floor controls managing the automatic gearbox.
![]()
The engine bay centers on a 1964-spec 389ci Pontiac V8 topped with a "Tri-Power" induction system consisting of three two-barrel carburetors. Cooling efficiency is upgraded via an aftermarket aluminum radiator. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a heavy-duty TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.

The stock suspension setup is complemented by power-assisted steering. Stopping power is managed by a power brake system featuring front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

This is my dream car. I’m a NAVY vet and I’ve been looking for this car since I’ve been home. I had a chance to buy one eight years ago but I was having my first kid my daughter Leilani. I’m praying to win this for me and her. 🤞
