Description
This 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe features a period correct YR-code 389ci V8 updated with a "Tri-Power" intake, paired with a modern Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in factory Reef Turquoise Poly with a blue bucket seat interior, the car incorporates upgraded Vintage Air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, and a Saf-T-Trak limited-slip differential. It is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation, a recreated window sticker, and a clean Minnesota title.
The exterior is refinished in Reef Turquoise Poly (Code KK). Body equipment includes chrome bumpers, stainless steel trim, a scoop hood, and factory badging. The trunk compartment is fitted with a tartan mat, spare tire, and jack assembly. The car stands on factory-style 15-inch Rally wheels wrapped in Firestone Sup-R-Belt R70-15 redline radial tires.
The cabin features blue vinyl upholstery over front bucket seats, including an optional power-adjustable driver seat, and a matching rear bench seat. Interior appointments include a center console, Vintage Air air conditioning, and an AM push-button radio linked to an electric antenna.
The driver operates the vehicle via an optional custom sports woodgrain steering wheel mounted to a tilt column. Floor controls include a manual shifter set into the center console. The dash houses a Rally gauge cluster equipped with a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel gauge, and an integrated clock.
The engine bay houses a period correct YR-code 389ci Pontiac V8 retrofitted with a "Tri-Power" setup featuring three Rochester two-barrel carburetors. Exhaust is routed through a dual exhaust system with factory-style bright tips. Power is sent through a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission to a heavy-duty Saf-T-Trak (Posi) rear differential.
The chassis is equipped with power steering. Stopping power is managed by a power brake system featuring front disc conversions and rear drums. The seller notes that all of the suspension geometry is stock.
