Draped in rare Reef Turquoise Poly with redline radials and equipped with icy Vintage Air, this PHS-documented '65 Goat perfectly marries pure mid-sixties muscle royalty with five-gear highway versatility.

Description

This 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe features a period correct YR-code 389ci V8 updated with a "Tri-Power" intake, paired with a modern Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in factory Reef Turquoise Poly with a blue bucket seat interior, the car incorporates upgraded Vintage Air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, and a Saf-T-Trak limited-slip differential. It is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation, a recreated window sticker, and a clean Minnesota title.

The exterior is refinished in Reef Turquoise Poly (Code KK). Body equipment includes chrome bumpers, stainless steel trim, a scoop hood, and factory badging. The trunk compartment is fitted with a tartan mat, spare tire, and jack assembly. The car stands on factory-style 15-inch Rally wheels wrapped in Firestone Sup-R-Belt R70-15 redline radial tires.

The cabin features blue vinyl upholstery over front bucket seats, including an optional power-adjustable driver seat, and a matching rear bench seat. Interior appointments include a center console, Vintage Air air conditioning, and an AM push-button radio linked to an electric antenna.

The driver operates the vehicle via an optional custom sports woodgrain steering wheel mounted to a tilt column. Floor controls include a manual shifter set into the center console. The dash houses a Rally gauge cluster equipped with a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel gauge, and an integrated clock.

The engine bay houses a period correct YR-code 389ci Pontiac V8 retrofitted with a "Tri-Power" setup featuring three Rochester two-barrel carburetors. Exhaust is routed through a dual exhaust system with factory-style bright tips. Power is sent through a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission to a heavy-duty Saf-T-Trak (Posi) rear differential.

The chassis is equipped with power steering. Stopping power is managed by a power brake system featuring front disc conversions and rear drums. The seller notes that all of the suspension geometry is stock.

Shoot. I thought I sent you a list of questions to your email. Basically I just want to know if there are any issues with this car that are not noted in your overall report. The 5 speed is not original to this car. What else is not original to the car? Front brakes? Are there any prior damages to the car that you know of. How many prior owners? On your video I noticed the steering wheel column was shaking during braking. Is that something you noticed? It shouldn’t do that. I owned a 65 previously. Never had that issue. What other issues can you tell me. I’m not local to your area. I live in California so I need to know. Thanks.

The car has no issues as we have gone through it and serviced it, tuned it, went through all the systems...brakes, ac etc. Lights blinkers, horn and so forth. Everything works as it should. We do not know how many prior owners there were. During our inspection we did not see anything that would have made is believe that the car was damaged. The brakes are correct power front discs. The shaking was because the tires need to be balanced and the roads here are horrible! I hope that was helpful
