A very nice custom B-body street machine that pairs iconic big-block Mopar power with key chassis and braking updates. I really love anything with a classic Gen 2 426ci HEMI, especially one that's been buffed up to 500 horsepower! All that power will be easy to control thanks to a built TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission and an 8.75-inch Sure Grip rear end. I can't end this Wrench Report without mentioning the airbrushed flames over the black paint. The artistry and detail put in those flames is fabulous!

Description

This 1966 Plymouth Belvedere two-door hardtop is a custom street machine that is powered by a period-correct 426ci HEMI V8 engine. The vehicle features custom flame paintwork, an updated 4-wheel disc brake system, power steering, and interior updates. It is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Missouri title.

The body is finished in gloss black accented by professionally airbrushed custom flame graphics across the front fascia and body sides. The exterior maintains factory style chrome bumpers, headlights, and brightwork trim elements.

The vehicle stands on a set of 17-inch American Racing Magnum 500-style wheels. The wheels are wrapped in modern performance tires.

The interior is trimmed in black vinyl featuring embossed front bucket seats with lap belts separated by a factory-style center console. A factory style rear bench seat adorns the rear. Black carpeting and matching door panels line the cabin floor and sides.

The dashboard retains a factory layout, with a stock gauge cluster, heater and fan switches, and a factory-style steering wheel. Auxiliary gauges have been attached to the dash, such as a Bosch Super Tach II tachometer, and gauges for monitoring engine vitals. The factory radio has been replaced with a modern Kenwood stereo unit.

The engine bay houses a period-correct 426ci HEMI V8 rated by the seller at 500 horsepower. The engine is constructed with forged internals and a hydraulic roller camshaft, topped with a dual four-barrel carburetor intake setup. Cooling is supplied by an aluminum radiator. Power is sent through a professionally built 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission fitted with a 3,500-RPM stall converter. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Chrysler 8.75-inch Sure Grip rear differential housing 2.94:1 gear ratios.

Underneath, the chassis retains period correct suspension equipment, including the rear leaf springs and independent front torsion bar suspension. The vehicle is also equipped with power steering and a full 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system. Stopping power is updated via a Wilwood power-assisted four-wheel disc brake system.
