Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
I really know this car inside and out because I built it! This was a complete no-expense-spared effort where every single nut and bolt was replaced and every single part was restored and modified to build what we consider the ultimate Restomod Charger. Careful thought and planning went into matching components to elevate the car's performance and driving experience to modern standards while complementing the amazing design of a '70 Charger. My favorite thing about this car is that after all was said and done we ended up with fantastic power to weight ratio of 0.182 (3,570 lbs scaled weight & 650 HP) which is entering supercar territory!
Description
This 1970 Dodge Charger is a custom restomod built by RestoMods in San Diego, California and is now being offered by the private seller who won the vehicle in RestoMods' online sweepstakes in May of 2026. Completed in December 2024 and refinished in Tuxedo Black in August 2025, the car was featured prominently in the BluePrint Engines booth at SEMA Show in November 2025. The build pairs a 650-horsepower 426ci modern Gen 3 HEMI V8 with a five-speed manual transmission, QA1 coilover suspension, four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and an updated leather/suede interior. The car has 3,708 miles reported on the digital odometer since the build was completed. Total lifetime mileage unknown. It is now offered by the seller with a clean Tennessee title along with extensive build documentation and many pages of receipts.

The body was refinished from Viper Red to Tuxedo Black in 2025 following a complete build. Exterior modifications include Ringbrothers Air Frame billet aluminum hood hinges, Holley LED headlights, Digi-Tails LED taillight conversions, new replacement glass, and new chrome trim. A matte black vinyl trunk stripe is applied to the rear.

The Charger rides on staggered 18-inch American Racing Groove wheels measuring 18x8 inches up front and 18x10 inches out back, wrapped in Falken RT660 tires (245/40R18 front, 295/40R18 rear). The date codes on the tires are as follows: September 2021 for the rears, and February 2023 for the fronts.

The cabin features Sparco GT front bucket seats and a matching rear bench seat upholstered in custom suede and leather, accompanied by new carpet and door panels. Interior amenities include a Vintage Air climate control system and a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.

The driver operates the car via a Billet Specialties leather-wrapped steering wheel mounted to a Flaming River tilt column. A woodgrain Hurst pistol-grip shifter handles gear changes, while a Dakota Digital instrument cluster displays telemetry.

The engine bay houses a BluePrint Engines 426ci Gen-3 HEMI V8 dyno-rated at 650 horsepower. The following mechanicals are noted:
- Holley Terminator X-MAX electronic fuel injection system
- Tanks Inc. fuel tank with an in-tank 340-lph fuel pump
- CVF accessory drive system
- American Autowire harness
- aluminum radiator with dual Proform electric cooling fans
- Hooker stainless steel shorty headers
- 2.5-inch MagnaFlow Street Series stainless steel dual exhaust system with an X-pipe
- Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission
- McLeod clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing

The chassis is strengthened with US Car Tool subframe connectors, torque boxes, and chassis bracing. The suspension utilizes a QA1 front cradle with rack-and-pinion steering and front coilovers, paired with a QA1 rear four-link setup with coilovers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel Wilwood power disc brakes featuring six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers.

As the owner of this car let me be clear, if you are the winner of this action, it will be a VERY rewarding feeling after your first cruise. But heres the problem; attenion. People will give you too much attention in this bad baby. Heads will turn, people will stop in their tracks, and the beautiful rumble of the 426 thats under the hood will literally make people peak out their blinds and step outside for a better look. So only buy this car if you can handle the attention! βΊοΈ
