Wrench Report

You gotta give this seller credit: not many people are willing to take the original factory block and build a true street monster out of it. This verified '72 Nova SS sports a Blair's Speed Shop-machined 383 stroker V8 that barks through a 3-inch Thrush exhaust the moment you turn the key. Between the CPP four-wheel power discs, modern Intellitronix digital dash, and an overbuilt 3.42 rear end, it delivers 100% pure, restored muscle car attitude with zero guesswork.
Description
This two-owner 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS is verified by its "K" VIN code as a true Super Sport model. Undergoing a bare-metal restoration, the car features its original numbers-matching block rebuilt into a 383ci stroker V8, a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission, custom paint, four-wheel power disc brakes, and an updated interior. It is offered by the seller in California with its original owner's manuals, spare paint, a digital library of over 700 build photos, documentation, and a clear title.

The exterior was stripped to bare metal and refinished in Pewter Silver (Paint Code 14) enhanced with blue pearl accents and holographic microflake. Body equipment includes simulated hood vents, new chrome bumpers, replacement glass and weatherstripping, and LED headlights and taillights. The seller notes approximately 12 minor touch-up chips measuring one quarter-inch or smaller, along with factory-consistent body panel gaps.

The Nova stands on 15-inch chrome Cragar SS wheels wrapped in 255/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

The cabin features replacement black vinyl upholstery (Trim Code 751) covering the front split-bench seat, accompanied by matching door panels, headliner, and replacement black loop carpeting with underlying thermal insulation. Features include a rebuilt power steering system, woodgrain trim accents, LED footwell lighting, USB charging ports, and an aftermarket Classic Car stereo with Bluetooth and USB capability connected to a Kicker amplifier and speakers.

The driver operates the car via a factory-style steering wheel set ahead of an Intellitronix digital dash cluster fitted into the original instrument bezel. The digital odometer displays 11 miles following the build completion, with total mileage exempt on the title.

The engine bay houses the original, numbers-matching 350ci V8 that has been rebuilt into a 383ci stroker V8 using the factory four-bolt main block machined by Blair's Speed Shop in Pasadena, California. Componentry includes a Scat rotating assembly with Icon pistons, a Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, AFR cylinder heads, an AFR Air Gap intake manifold, and an Edelbrock 650-cfm four-barrel carburetor. Additional additions include MSD A6 ignition, a JEGS electronic distributor, a three-core aluminum radiator, and a trunk-mounted battery relocation kit. Power is routed through a Turbo Hydra-matic 350 three-speed automatic transmission with a 2,000-rpm stall converter that was rebuilt by Mike's Transmission out of Lancaster, CA, leading to a heavy-duty 30-spline rear end with 3.42:1 differential gearing built by Hooper's Rear Ends.

The chassis features replacement control arm bushings, shock absorbers, body mounts, tie rod ends, and ball joints. Exhaust is handled through a three-inch dual exhaust system with Thrush mufflers. Stopping power is provided by a Classic Performance Products (CPP) four-wheel power disc brake system utilizing Wilwood calipers, replacement proportioning hardware, and a CPP master cylinder with a power booster.

Hi My name is Hank and I spent more that 5 years rebuilding this old ugly duck of a Nova SS. I am very mechanically inclined but learned a lot about Novas in the process. I took the time to photograph my journey completing this project adding modern details like full LED lighting, Digital instruments in the factory dashboard, courtesy footwell lighting and hands free phone and bluetooth sound systems. It only has a few miles on it and has not been on a dyno but based upon what I have been told it shoud be a real monster. Thanks to all who are viewing my can and sepcial thanks to the bidders.
