Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
The rebuilt 390ci FE V8 looks clean and polished, anchored by the rare 428 Police Interceptor aluminum intake, wrapped headers, and fresh electrical plumbing. Underneath, the C6 automatic transmission, Twin-I-Beam front end, and heavy-duty rear axle demonstrate a rugged, well-serviced chassis built for real-world utility. Set high on 18-inch Moto Metal wheels and 33-inch tires with crisp Jungle Green paint, this classic F-250 displays an exceptionally sharp, tough truck stance.
Description
This 1972 Ford F-250 Custom single-cab pickup is a restored three-quarter-ton truck powered by a freshly rebuilt 390ci FE V8 engine paired with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. Purchased by the seller as a running project in 2020, the truck underwent cosmetic restoration by Slauson Auto Restoration in Los Angeles, including bodywork and a paint overhaul. It is equipped with Vintage Air climate control, an upgraded cooling system, a custom bed-mounted toolbox, and a heavy-duty towing hitch receiver with electric brake controls. It is now offered with documentation and service receipts for the engine and bodywork along with a clean California title.

The steel body is refinished in a custom Jungle Green paint scheme offset by satin black trim, black side mirrors, and black front and rear bumpers. The truck bed features a spray-in bedliner along with a lockable, black bed-mounted storage toolbox.

The truck rides on 18-inch black Moto Metal alloy wheels wrapped in 33x12.50R18 LT Atlas Priva off-road tires.

The single-cab interior features a bench seat upholstered in dark green vinyl, complemented by green door panels, black and grey floor coverings, and a painted green dashboard. Amenities include a Vintage Air heating and air conditioning system, manual crank windows, a decorative original dashboard radio unit, and functional exterior lighting controls.

The interior also features an aftermarket steering wheel set ahead of factory instrumentation including a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level. A column-mounted shifter manages the C6 automatic transmission. A plastic cupholder and storage unit is bolted to the floor.

The engine bay houses a 390ci Ford FE big-block V8 rebuilt in 2024 with new cylinders, connecting rods, bearings, and a Comp Cams high-performance camshaft. Induction is supplied via an NOS aluminum 428 Police Interceptor intake manifold, while cooling is handled by a replacement original-style radiator, mechanical fan, dual electric fan, and a new water pump. Additional electrical updates include a Powermaster starter, a 100/150-amp alternator, electronic distributor, replacement wiring, and wrapped exhaust headers feeding a dual exhaust system. Power is routed through a serviced C6 three-speed automatic transmission to a heavy-duty rear differential.

The chassis utilizes Ford's Twin-I-Beam front suspension and a heavy-duty leaf-sprung rear axle with refreshed suspension and brake components. Stopping power is provided by a hydraulic brake system with a dual-circuit master cylinder, while a rear receiver hitch is paired with an electric trailer brake wiring connection.

Can you send me a photograph of the truck's original Ford identification/rating plate
Also, can you provide me with the truck's current rear axle ratio, actual axle ratings, or safe towing capacity
Can you post the truck's door-jamb certification label and any documentation identifying the rear axle ratio.
Why is the front end a different color green than the rest of the truck?
I'm new here. How do you know if a vehicle has a reserve and, if so, if it has been met? Do you have a "Buy it now" option? Thanks for your help.
What's the story with the paint? The front half looks like a different shade of green than the cab and bed sides. Also looks like the drivers side rear leaf-pack is popping out of the mount
