Description
This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is an upgraded late-second-generation muscle car featuring a performance-built small-block V8, upgraded transmission hardware, a custom cloth interior, and updated chassis components. It is now offered with the original owners manual, a copy of the broadcast sheet, and a clean West Virginia title.
The exterior is finished in bright Red paint accented by Z/28-specific body styling, including a front spoiler, fender flares, and a rear decklid spoiler. Exterior trim includes original-style brightwork and badging.
The car stands on 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in radial tires measuring 235/45 ZR17 in the front and 275/50 ZR17 in the rear.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a matching rear bench upholstered in black and white plaid cloth. Amenities include an AM/FM stereo head unit and a factory air conditioning system that has been converted to R134a refrigerant. The driver operates the car via a factory three-spoke Z28 steering wheel behind which is the stock instrument cluster housing operational gauges.
The engine bay houses an L84 4-bolt main 350ci V8 engine bored .030 over and built with 9.5:1 compression pistons, 64cc cylinder heads, and a Crane camshaft with .460-inch lift. Induction is managed by a Holley four-barrel carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock intake manifold. Exhaust is routed through Hooker headers, fitted with a starter heat shield, and Flowmaster pipes and mufflers. Power is sent through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission enhanced with a six-lug torque converter and a B&M shift kit before directing drive to a Posi-traction rear differential equipped with 3.55:1 gearing and Lakewood axles.
The chassis utilizes air-assisted rear shocks to support ride height and stance. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
