Wrench Report

Beep Beep! That working factory-style horn is only the start of what this true Road Runner has to say, because the factory 383 big block under the hood breathes through an aluminum Air-Gap intake, a Holley carburetor, and MSD ignition, then exhales through chrome-plated Mopar HP exhaust manifolds! Born as a factory four-speed car, this Plymouth carries the formula that made the Road Runner famous: big-block torque with a stick. Power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes make it easier to live with, and American Racing Magnum wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/As, a restored Turbine Bronze Poly finish, and a reupholstered two-tone interior make it ready to be driven or shown!

Description

Restored in its factory color combination of Turbine Bronze Poly with a black vinyl top, this 1968 Plymouth Road Runner is a true factory 383 big-block car. Powered by its 383ci big-block V8 and originally equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, this Plymouth features an aluminum Air-Gap intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, MSD ignition, chrome-plated Mopar big-block HP exhaust manifolds, power steering, and power four-wheel disc brakes. The car retains its original fender tag.

Turbine Bronze Poly covers the restored body, which is topped by a black vinyl roof covering, and the original fender tag remains in place.

The car rides on American Racing Magnum wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

A two-tone interior has been reupholstered, gear selection is managed by a Hurst floor shifter, and "Road Runner" mats are fitted up front. A full-size spare and tire-changing tools are located inside the lined trunk.

Pressing the horn sounds the operational, factory-style "Beep Beep" Road Runner horn. Other features include factory instrumentation, complemented by auxiliary gauges and toggle switches, and an AM radio. The five-digit odometer shows 81, 219 miles; true mileage is unknown.

Chrome-plated Mopar big-block HP exhaust manifolds sit on the factory 383ci big-block V8, which also has an aluminum Air-Gap intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, and MSD ignition. The car was originally built with a four-speed manual transmission.

Power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes are installed and the car is equipped with dual exhaust.
