Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
If you know anything about these cars, then you know that there's a niché for converting these little Ford Anglias into wildly fast street machines. That 514ci V8 utilizing a 460 block and Jon Kaase hemispherical heads is going to blow your socks off, but despite all that power with a lightweight platform and short wheelbase, the seller says it's all manageable on top of that Art Morrison chassis.
Description
This 1948 Ford Anglia is a gasser-style custom build that rides on an Art Morrison chassis. Constructed with an all-steel main body and fiberglass rear fenders, the chassis was fabricated in Charleston, South Carolina, while the body and paintwork were completed in Florida in 2021. The car features a 514ci V8 engine, a heavy-duty drivetrain, and a custom race-style interior. Showing 638 miles on its digital odometer, the vehicle is now offered with a clean Indiana title.

The body is finished in metallic blue paint, which the seller states cost over $12,000 to execute alongside the body prep work. Exterior features include a left-side mirror, tinted glass, blue-dot headlights with integrated indicators, and teardrop taillights. The vehicle rides on staggered Radir alloy wheels, featuring 18-inch eight-spoke spindle-mount front wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Spitfire tires and 15-inch slotted rear wheels fitted with 16.5x31 Hoosier Quick Time tires. The seller notes that there is a crack in the driver side door window glass.

Mounted in the rear trunk area is a 15-gallon fuel cell alongside the vehicle's battery.

The cabin is protected by a four-point roll bar and features aluminum race-style vinyl bucket seats fitted with snap-on black upholstery and latch-and-link lap harnesses. The floor panels and custom dashboard are finished in black bedliner coating, complemented by black door panels. Electrical circuits are routed through a Painless Performance wiring control panel.

The driver operates a removable three-spoke steering wheel with a metallic blue rim. Instrumentation includes a column-mounted AutoMeter tachometer and secondary AutoGage instruments set into the dashboard. Gear selection is managed by a floor-mounted TCI trigger shifter.

The engine bay houses a 514ci V8 constructed with a 460 cylinder block, Diamond Racing 10.5:1 compression pistons, a custom-ground hydraulic roller camshaft, Jon Kaase hemispherical cylinder heads, and a Jon Kaase intake manifold. Fuel and ignition are supplied by a Quick Fuel Technology 750-cfm carburetor and an MSD Digital 6AL ignition module. Spent gases pass through stainless four-into-one headers with capped cutouts flowing into a dual exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers, while cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Power is routed through a TCI Streetfighter C6 three-speed automatic transmission with a finned oil pan, leading to a Strange Engineering 9-inch rear end equipped with Strange axles, a Detroit Locker differential, and 3.25:1 gearing.

The Art Morrison chassis utilizes a straight front tube axle supported by hairpin radius rods and a Panhard bar, paired with a four-link rear suspension setup. Adjustable coilover shocks and Wilwood disc brakes with a CPP master cylinder are installed at all four corners. Steering is handled via a rack-and-pinion setup, and the seller states that the car exhibits good street manners.

I've never set in one. Can a 6'2" fit in it? Sorry for the dumb question.
