Somewhere between quiet cruiser and neighborhood alarm clock sits an electric cutout switch, and the GM Performance 502 behind it breathes through Air Flow Research aluminum heads, a Brodix intake, and a Holley 750 double-pumper, lit by MSD ignition! The Turbo 400 with its 3,000-rpm stall converter launches hard, the 12-bolt with Eaton Positraction, 3.42 gears, and 31-spline axles puts the torque down, and ceramic-coated Hooker headers feeding Flowmaster mufflers give it a voice to match. Adjustable trailing arms and a lateral link keep the rear axle in check, and drilled and slotted discs at all four corners bring this red big-block bruiser back down!
Description
Red paint and a GM Performance 502 big block set the direction for this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle, a two-door street machine. Powered by a GM Performance 502 big-block V8 and paired with a TCI Super StreetFighter Turbo 400 automatic transmission, this Chevrolet is outfitted with four-wheel disc brakes, a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear differential, adjustable rear trailing arms, and Vintage Air heat and air conditioning. This Chevelle is offered with a clean title.
New tinted glass fills the openings of the red two-door body. The trunk is finished in black with custom red accents.
The car rides on staggered Foose wheels, 18-inch in front and 20-inch in the rear, covered in Nitto tires.
Black leather with red inserts forms the custom interior, which has bucket seats along with Vintage Air heat and air conditioning.
Instrumentation comes from Dakota Digital analog-style gauges and an AutoMeter tachometer.
A Lunati hydraulic roller cam, Air Flow Research aluminum heads, a Brodix intake, and a Holley 750 double-pumper carburetor shape the airflow of the 502. MSD ignition lights the mixture, a Holley HP fuel pump supplies it, and a March serpentine belt-drive system runs the accessories.
