Pure 1950s hot-rodding nostalgia in this build. The Chevy 265 V8 with 283 heads, Edelbrock four-barrel, and three on the tree makes every trip to a local show feel like a blast from the past. With redone brakes, fresh front springs, updated wiring, and those classic staggered radial tires, it's a turnkey old-school cruiser that achieves better reliability than stock with a Chevy V8 platform that has more parts availability than even some modern engines.

Description

This 1948 Ford Fordor Deluxe Sedan is an old-school street rod finished in a two-tone black and white paint scheme with custom hand-painted pinstriping. Powered by a Chevrolet 265ci small-block V8 with 283ci cylinder heads and paired with a three-speed manual transmission, this Ford features modern electrical upgrades, refreshed brakes, new front springs, and recently re-chromed bumpers. It is now offered by the selling dealer with receipts and a clean California title.

The exterior features iconic late-1940s pontoon body lines complemented by freshly re-chromed front and rear bumpers, bright grille trim, dual side mirrors, and custom hand-painted pinstripes across select body panels.

The car rides on red 15-inch steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, fitted with staggered Hankook radial tires (205/70 R15 front, 225/70 R15 rear) installed in 2022.

The interior features white and black vinyl bench seating paired with matching door panels, headliner, and dark floor coverings. Interior appointments include an updated wiring harness, along with electric windshield wipers and an electric cooling fan control.

The interior also features a factory steering wheel set ahead of a set of modern VDO auxiliary gauges neatly integrated into the original steel dashboard face. Manual gear selection is managed by a factory Ford "three-on-the-tree" column shifter. Mileage is shown to be just over 34,000 miles (TMU).

The engine bay houses a Chevrolet 265ci V8 topped with 283ci cylinder heads, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and an electric fuel pump. Cooling is supported by an electric fan assembly. Power is routed through a three-speed manual transmission to a solid Ford rear axle. The chassis benefits from newly replaced front coil springs, while stopping power is provided by a completely overhauled hydraulic drum brake system featuring a replacement master cylinder.
