Wrench Report

This red Chevy II isn't quiet about its intentions, because a Weiand 142 supercharger sits on a built 383 with Mahle forged pistons, an Eagle crank, Dart Sportsman heads, an 850-cfm Holley, and MSD ignition, making an estimated 480 to 500 horsepower! The 700R4 with its 2,800-rpm stall converter helps launch hard when it's time to play, overdrive takes the strain out of highway cruising, and the Ford 9-inch Positraction with 3.55 gears and Strange 31-spline axles puts the power on the pavement. A Heidts front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering and adjustable coilovers sharpens the handling, and the hand-stitched tan leather and AutoMeter gauges make the cabin a sharp contrast to the blown 383 under the hood!

Description

Dressed in red over polished US Mag wheels, this 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova is a supercharged street machine with a custom tan leather interior. Powered by a supercharged 383ci small-block Chevrolet V8 with an 850-cfm Holley carburetor and MSD ignition and paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, this Chevrolet carries a Ford 9-inch positraction rear end, a Heidts front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering, and adjustable coilovers. It is offered on a clean title.

Chevrolet's compact Chevy II body wears red paint over polished chrome and sports a cowl induction hood and chin spoiler. While the car has "Supersport" and "SS" badging, it did not leave the factory as a true SS.

The car rides on Nitto NT555 tires measuring 225/45 up front and 295/40 in the rear over polished 17- and 18-inch US Mag wheels, respectively.

Hand-stitched tan leather covers the seats and adorns the door panels, and the folding/reclining front buckets are fitted with red three-point harnesses. A B&M shifter sits atop a custom center console that runs from front to back and speakers are housed in the kick panels.

Analog AutoMeter gauges supply the driver's instrumentation, a shift light is attached to the top of the aftermarket tilt steering column, toggle switches for the fuel pump and fan are set into the lower left side of the dash, and a retro Bluetooth stereo has been added. the trunk is lined with tan carpet with a red Chevron and houses a fire extinguisher.

Boost comes from a Weiand 142 supercharger mounted on a built 383ci small-block Chevrolet. Mahle forged pistons, Eagle 6-inch connecting rods, an Eagle crankshaft, a hydraulic roller camshaft, and Harland Sharp 1.6-ratio roller rockers make up the internals, with Dart Sportsman cylinder heads on top. An 850-cfm Holley carburetor supplies fuel, MSD ignition handles spark, and the combination is estimated at 480 to 500 horsepower. A 700R4 four-speed automatic with a 2,800-rpm stall converter and overdrive sends power to a Ford 9-inch Positraction differential with Richmond 3.55:1 gears and Strange 31-spline axles.

A complete Heidts front suspension replaces the factory setup, with rack-and-pinion steering and adjustable coilovers.
