Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Pro-Touring Coupe is a professional nut-and-bolt restoration finished in mirror-finish Reflex Silver paint with optional removable red Yenko-style graphics. Powered by a GM Performance fuel-injected 383 stroker V8 crate engine producing 450+ horsepower and paired with a Tremec TKX heavy-duty close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission, this Chevelle features QA1 Performance suspension front and rear, a 12-bolt Posi-Traction rear end with 3.42 gears, four-wheel power disc brakes, and Vintage Air conditioning. It is offered with a 6-inch binder of restoration receipts (totaling nearly $100,000), build photos, and a clean Maryland title.
The body is finished in mirror-finish Reflex Silver paint that has been professionally show waxed and detailed. A red Yenko-style decal stripe kit is removable, allowing the car to be run with as much or as little of the graphics as desired, and a photo set shows the differences. All chrome, trim, and brightwork is new. A photo shows a wrinkle in the paint on the driver side of the hood and upper quarter panel.
The car rides on polished 17-inch American Racing "Salt Flat" wheels with Redline performance radial tires measuring 225/50 in front and 275/50 in back.
Inside are custom TMI red front bucket seats and matching rear bench, a suede headliner and visors, new carpets, a center console, upgraded door panels, and billet window cranks and handles. Vintage Air air conditioning and modern heat are installed, as is an Autosound Bluetooth-enabled AM/FM stereo.
Cockpit features include a Chevelle SS steering wheel and upgraded custom digital/analog gauges including a 160 MPH speedometer, 8K tachometer, as well as fuel, temperature, and voltage readouts. The trunk compartment is custom carpeted and detailed with hidden storage.
Power comes from a GM Performance fuel-injected 383 stroker V8 crate engine producing 450+ horsepower, in a fully dressed and detailed engine bay. A custom stainless header-back dual exhaust with polished custom tips carries exhaust out the back. The engine is paired with an upgraded Tremec TKX heavy-duty close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission, and power is sent to a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.42 gears.
The chassis is fitted with QA1 Performance suspension front and rear, including adjustable coilovers, tubular A-arms, heavy-duty sway bars, and trailing arms. A fast-ratio power steering upgrade is installed, and braking is handled by upgraded four-wheel power disc brakes.
