Wrench Report

By Chris Esparza

RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.

Rolling a 355 Chevy small block to life under the hood of a gloss black '34 Plymouth is exactly how a traditional hot rod should announce itself. The Turbo 350 automatic carries that Chevy rumble down the road without a clutch pedal in sight, while the vintage chrome Baby Moons and wide whitewalls keep the golden-age hot rod look front and center. With black leather inside, air conditioning for the heat, power front disc brakes for the stops, and a factory-style rumble seat out back, this 62,359-mile 5-window coupe is ready to cruise Main Street and steal the spotlight at the next show!

Description

This 1934 Plymouth 5-Window Coupe is a traditional hot rod finished in gloss black paint with vintage chrome Baby Moon wheels and a factory-style rumble seat. Powered by a 355ci Chevrolet small-block V8 and paired with a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission, this Plymouth features black leather upholstery, air conditioning, Flowtech exhaust, and power front disc brakes. It is offered on a clean Illinois title.

The body is finished in gloss black paint, features chrome bumpers and headlamps, and retains its classic 5-window coupe profile. A factory-style rumble seat and full-size spare are fitted at the rear.

The car rides on vintage 15" chrome Baby Moon wheels wrapped in wide whitewall tires.

The interior is trimmed in black leather upholstery front and rear with matching door cards and black carpet, an aftermarket tilt wheel, and floor-mounted shifter.

Cockpit amenities include an aftermarket temperature gauge, air conditioning, and a ceiling-mounted stereo.

Power comes from a 355ci Chevrolet small-block V8, which replaced the factory flathead I6. The engine is paired with a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission.

Dual Flowtech Raptor mufflers reside underneath and braking is handled by power front disc brakes.

This car underwent a restoration over 10 years ago, and the seller’s have owned it for more than 25 years. Since the restoration, it is believed to have been driven approximately 25,000 miles. This was not a car that sat in a garage collecting dust. It was driven, enjoyed, and taken care of! That is also why you will see some wear on the boot.

This car was the seller’s pride and joy for over two decades. Unfortunately, he passed away, and his wife has made the decision to sell it. We personally picked the car up from their home and had it professionally serviced and detailed before offering it for sale.

You are going to have a hard time finding another classic with a steel body this solid, this rust-free, and in this kind of condition for the money!

This is an older restoration that has actually been driven and enjoyed, not a freshly restored trailer queen. It has some signs of use, as you would expect, but the overall condition and quality of this car speak for themselves.

At the end of the day, you’re buying a solid, rust-free classic with over 25 years of ownership history, not somebody’s unfinished project or a car hiding a bunch of problems.

What if anything needs attention.? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best what is condition of body and paint? Are there any leaks motor or drive line?

Revheads Seller Oct 16, 5:42 pm PDT
There are no leaks, everything functions exactly as it should, and the car runs and drives absolutely amazing! I would rate the paint and body a solid 8 out of 10. This car has been driven and enjoyed, so there are some minor rock chips on the front end, which is to be expected. Overall, it’s a beautiful, well-sorted car that looks great and performs just as good as it looks!

How old is the restoration? How many miles are on the car since the restoration? Can you assist with transportation? Why is the boot on the shifter so deteriorated? Does “Buy the Car” allow us to talk on the phone?

I put a response out to everyone about your questions. We can help with shipping. I use ASAP Transportation
