Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
Burgundy paint, a wood bed, and chrome bumpers make this 5-window Chevy a head-turner. The 216 inline-six speaks up through a Fenton dual carb intake and dual exhaust, with the HEI distributor keeping the spark sharp and the 4-speed floor shift putting you in charge of the gears. A Sun Super Tach II on the steering column and auxiliary gauges under the dash keep tabs on every move, and American Racing wheels with Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires give this 3100 a stance that's equal parts vintage and hot rod!
Description
This restored 1951 Chevrolet 3100 5-window pickup is finished in burgundy paint and powered by an era-correct 216 inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with floor shift. Equipped with a Fenton dual carb intake, an HEI distributor, and dual exhaust, the truck also carries American Racing wheels and a wood bed.

Burgundy paint covers the body, with chrome front and rear bumpers and a chrome grille standing out against it. Color-matching running boards run beneath the doors, and a wood bed with fuel filler access sits behind the cab. The cab has no side-view mirrors.
![]()
The truck rides on 15-inch American Racing wheels wrapped in staggered-width Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires, measuring 235/60 in front and 255/60 in the rear.

Red trim covers the cabin, where a black vinyl bench seat pairs with two-tone door panels. An open space in the dash marks where a radio would mount.

A Sun Super Tach II tachometer is mounted to the steering column, and under-dash auxiliary gauges report fuel level and oil temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 5,198 miles (total mileage is unknown).

An era-correct 216 inline-six supplies the power, topped by a Fenton dual carb intake and fired by an HEI distributor. Dual exhaust carries the exhaust out the back, and a 4-speed manual transmission with floor shift sends power to the rear wheels.
